Staffing software growth is shifting toward cloud tools that connect recruiting with scheduling, onboarding and payroll coordination, not just applicant tracking, according to a 2026 market outlook Worldwide Market Reports promoted Sept. 18 on openPR.

Worldwide Market Reports identifies recruitment automation and workforce management as growth opportunities among staffing agencies and employers. Its assessment puts integrations alongside AI as an area of competition, with providers expanding links to job boards, professional networks, payroll systems and human capital management platforms.

AI development in the outlook includes candidate matching, resume analysis and automated communication. Industry-specific staffing workflows are another competitive focus.

The related applicant-tracking market is still projected to grow. A separate forecast from The Business Research Company, promoted Sept. 11 on openPR, puts ATS at an estimated $3.17 billion in 2026, up from $2.96 billion in 2025, and projects $4.33 billion by 2030, with an 8.1% compound annual growth rate. That forecast covers cloud-based and on-premises systems, as well as software and services.

In WMR's outlook, healthcare and IT staffing are specialized opportunities tied to high-volume recruiting and skills-based candidate matching. The firm also expects providers with specialized staffing workflows and strong integrations to benefit from the expansion of contract and contingent workforce models.
