VeriWorks buys LaborWorx for data-center staffing foothold

VeriWorks has acquired LaborWorx from Oakley Services, buying an established skilled-trades supplier that already places electricians and other workers on data-center projects across the country, according to Staffing Industry Analysts and an acquisition announcement published on MarketPressRelease.

The buyer, based in West Palm Beach, Florida, has about 60 offices. Formerly called WO Partners, it recently adopted VeriWorks as its nationwide go-to-market brand while retaining regional staffing names including Action Labor, SIA reported.

LaborWorx supplies workers for data-center projects alongside its industrial and construction business. Its national client base also includes energy providers, food and beverage manufacturers, and industrial contractors. The business brings a proprietary workforce recommendation platform that the announcement says can be used across VeriWorks’ regional brands.

The attraction was LaborWorx’s “deep expertise in finding, placing and retaining highly skilled workers, exactly the type in such high demand and in such short supply,” VeriWorks CEO Doug Hammond told SIA. Hammond said LaborWorx had placed tens of thousands of workers across industrial, construction and data-center work, a figure spanning those businesses rather than data centers alone.

LaborWorx will operate as a standalone company within VeriWorks, which plans to retain its brand, team and client relationships, according to the published announcement. LaborWorx co-founder and President Clay Barnett described the intended expansion: “What changes now is what we can offer: more locations, more resources, faster placement across markets we couldn't reach on our own.”
