Medallion buys Andros, adding health-plan credentialing to AI-assisted platform
The combined business covers more than one million providers across nearly 400 healthcare organizations and health plans.
Medallion has acquired Andros, adding an established health-plan credentialing business to a combined operation that covers more than one million providers across nearly 400 healthcare organizations and health plans, according to Medallion’s September 15, 2026, announcement.
Andros customers will gain access to Medallion’s AI-assisted platform over time. The planned rollout puts provider outreach and follow-up among the tasks handled by AI agents, along with automated collection of information from primary sources and real-time status tracking. Medallion says the service will also include embedded credentialing specialists and expert oversight.
Andros is an NCQA-certified credentials verification organization that has served health plans, health systems, provider groups and telehealth companies since 2013. Medallion says the acquisition advances its plan to put credentialing, payer enrollment, licensing and provider data management into one system, connecting work across health plans and provider organizations.
The workflow problem has a measurable cost for some prospective buyers. Among hospitals able to quantify the impact, one in five reported losing more than $1 million annually from delayed activation in Medallion’s 2026 State of Payer Enrollment and Medical Credentialing report, according to Insurance Business. The vendor’s survey drew responses from more than 550 healthcare leaders.
