cPanel adds AI tools for app deployment and hosting support

cPanel has made cPanel AI generally available for a hosting platform it says runs on approximately 350,000 servers and manages more than 48 million domains, adding tools that can create websites, deploy applications and diagnose account problems inside its control panel.

The WebPros company announced the release on Sept. 17, 2026, saying providers can run the workloads on their existing infrastructure. Access to the new capabilities remains under hosting providers’ control.

In its version 138 product post, cPanel describes an AI Assistant that uses documentation and account data to answer questions, guide administrative tasks and diagnose problems such as failed email delivery or exhausted disk quotas. The company pitches it as a way to reduce routine Level 1 support tickets. It requires the new, opt-in Meridian interface and separate activation by a server administrator.

Application deployment is another target. AI App Hosting accepts supported Node.js projects from a ZIP archive or Git URL, detects common frameworks, configures the runtime and routes the application to a live URL. That includes projects created with external AI coding tools, without requiring SSH access or manual setup. Nova, a separate creation tool within the release, generates and publishes projects from conversational descriptions.

AI agents can also act on hosting infrastructure through Model Context Protocol connections. Approved clients receive scoped permissions; user-level access is confined to the user’s home directory. Administrators get separate server-level access through WebPros Dashboard, with permission boundaries and audit trails showing what agents can reach and which actions they perform.
