Galloway & Company has acquired Hafer, a 70-person architecture, interior design and MEP engineering firm headquartered in Evansville, Indiana, according to Galloway’s Sept. 9 announcement. Hafer will continue operating from its existing offices.

President Jeff Justice told the Evansville Courier & Press that joining Galloway would strengthen Hafer’s ability to recruit and give employees and clients greater support through the larger company’s systems. Those are benefits management expects from the acquisition, rather than hiring commitments.

Denver-based Galloway described its footprint in the announcement as 530 professionals across 21 offices and 13 states, with 14 in-house design disciplines. It said the Hafer acquisition supports its long-term strategy in partnership with ARA Services Partners and Kelso & Company.

Hafer brings an established regional practice serving healthcare, civic, corporate and education projects, among other sectors. Its offices are in Evansville; Columbus, Ohio; Owensboro, Kentucky; and Carbondale, Illinois, according to the announcement. Justice said in the statement that employees would gain broader opportunities for collaboration and career growth while preserving Hafer’s community-focused culture.
