Veeva Systems is using its October 20-21 R&D and Quality Summit in Boston to put AI in front of the work it wants to change: clinical, regulatory, safety and quality operations in drug development, according to the company’s October 8 announcement.

The clearest workforce test on the agenda may be Lilly. Eli Lilly and Company is scheduled to discuss rolling out AI to improve productivity, accelerate submissions and prepare its workforce. UCB’s presentation will cover unifying safety operations for automated case processing, traceability from signal to source, and a data foundation for AI. Those are stated aims of the projects, rather than measured productivity gains.

Veeva’s own presentations will include Falcon, which it describes as “agentic labor,” and the Vault AI platform and agents. It also plans to show new capabilities in its Development Cloud and Quality Cloud applications. The company is positioning those products for AI-enabled work across biopharma operations.

The same agenda reaches the systems around that work. Pfizer is piloting cloud LIMS with the aim of speeding global delivery of medicines and preparing for AI. Duke University and another cancer center will discuss strategies for moving clinical-trial data directly from EHR to EDC, while Sanofi will present its work on a connected clinical ecosystem intended to improve the trial experience.

Tolmar is creating an integrated learning system for GxP compliance and professional development.
